Carson City, Nev. (May 21, 2025) — In its annual Athletics Awards Night, Carson High School celebrated the outstanding achievements of its student-athletes and coaches during the 2024-2025 school year. Held in the gymnasium, the event spotlighted the dedication, talent, grit and spirit that define the Carson High athletics program.

Nick Redwine was honored as Head Coach of the Year and Sheila Story was honored as Assistant Coach of the Year. Other coaches who were nominated by students and other coaches for those two awards include Nick Domitrovich, Jared Hagar, Jon Hagar, Jason Macy and Amber Willey.

The following student-athletes were also honored with the respective awards.

JT Heaton, Most Valuable Player Award
Anne Davis, the Carson Senator Award (exemplifying passion, unity and grit)
Kael Walt, the Carson Senator Award (exemplifying passion, unity and grit)
Natalia Armstrong, Most Improved Player Award
Cruz Gonzales, Most Improved Player Award
Gloria Dooley, Three-Sport Varsity Athlete Award
Julia Aquino, Three-Sport Varsity Athlete Award
Danika Presswood, Three-Sport Varsity Athlete Award

Other student-athletes who were nominated by students and other coaches for the above awards include Japheth Banko, Payton Brown, Kodie Campbell, Cale Coombs, Lauren Finnerty, Abby Franco, Aurora Giuralni, Ethan Hendee, Meryl Johnson, Dahlia Keating, Lucas LaFollette, Lainey Miller, Kekoa Mitchell, Jesse Oliva, Dominic Porter, Christian Rey and Jake Weninger.

Additionally, the following individuals were recognized for their efforts and support for Carson High School athletic programs.

Amber LaFollette, Unsung Hero Award for efforts with the new Ticket Booth.
Jim Bean, Game Worker Award for play-by-play announcing and sports commentating.
Caroline Crowley, Game Worker Award.
Izabella Thompson, Game Manager of the Year.

Special congratulations were offered to the senior student-athletes who will continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level following graduation. Carson High School seniors who have signed or committed to intercollegiate athletic programs are listed below alphabetically by their last name.
